Sustainable alternative to solvent-based coatings
Water-based paints are the environmentally friendly solution for low-emission, high-performance coatings. Compared to solvent-based paints, organic solvents are partially or completely replaced by water. This results in a better environmental balance and reduces VOC emissions (volatile organic compounds), which protects both the environment and the health of users.

Our water-based paints are used in numerous industrial sectors, including:

- - Industry – e.g. for engine coating and/or engine housings

FreiLacke offers various water-based paint systems for different requirements:
- WL - Physically drying
- WO - Oven-curing
- WU - 2K polyurethane (PU)
- WE - 2K epoxy resin (EP)
The systems cover a wide range of substrates, from steel, various plastics and mineral substrates (counterweights) to primed substrates.

EFDEDUR Hydro Paint WU1476M
Our polyurethane single-coat paint for various plastics with rapid overcoating or as a single-coat system
The system exhibits universal adhesion properties on various plastics.
In addition, WU1476M impresses with its fast drying properties at room temperature.
- Dust dry (TG1) after 30 min
- Assembly-ready after 2 h (TG6)
- With forced drying (10 min at 50°C), loadable after just 90 min
UV resistance WOM test according to DIN EN ISO 16474-2 Method A1:
System after 1000 WOM test: minimal gloss and colour tone changes of at least 90% residual gloss and a colour tone change of less than 0.5 DE.
Overpaintability:
Can be used both as a single-layer coating and as a bonding primer. If the highest requirements for UV exposure are necessary, we recommend coating with our 2K PU Hydro Topcoat WU1488G.
EFDEDUR Hydro Paint WU1488
2K polyurethane hydro top coat with the highest requirements for light and weather resistance
When used with suitable primers such as WE1935M, WU1488 offers outstanding chemical resistance and light and weather fastness. Its ease of use makes it suitable for use in all areas of vehicle and mechanical engineering. WU1488 is particularly user-friendly thanks to its high boiling point. The system is available in almost all colours and gloss levels. WU1488 also offers excellent resistance to thermal yellowing.

FREIOPLAST Hydro Paint WL1509
1K physical drying single-coat paint for universal application
Our WL1509 single-layer coating impresses with its good temperature resistance. It can be painted over with powder coatings and is characterised by excellent moisture resistance. It adheres to most metals, making the product an inexpensive and high-performance alternative.
