This was announced last week by the Great Place to Work® Institute Germany. The distinction is awarded to companies in all sectors and size classifications which are considered by their employees to be particularly reliable and appreciative, and also foster an attractive working culture.
“After FreiLacke had been carrying out employee surveys over a number of years without the possibility of comparing results with other companies, participation in the Great Place to Work® competition and the respective benchmarking involved offers significant additional benefits that will help us further increase our levels of employee satisfaction and motivation,” said Managing and Commercial Director Dr Rainer Frei in explaining the reason behind participation in the competition.
Organised for the first time this year by Great Place to Work® Germany, the regional competition ‘Best Employer in Baden-Württemberg’ will be held on an annual basis in the future. Competition partners are the German Association for Small and Medium-sized Businesses (BVMW) and the demographic network (ddn). Media partners are the German business magazine Wirtschaftswoche and business daily Handelsblatt. The competition ‘Best Employer in Baden-Württemberg’ is part of the Great Place to Work® umbrella competition ‘Germany’s Best Employer’, which has been held annually since 2002.
Assessment was based on an anonymous survey of FreiLacke employees, which addressed core workplace subjects such as management, trust, identification, team spirit, vocational development, remuneration, promotion of health and the work-life balance. In addition, the quality of personnel and management work activities within the company was evaluated within the scope of a cultural audit.
“The award is confirmation of a trustworthy management that cooperates with employees respectfully and fairly to enhance the identification of workers with their company and promote a strong team spirit”, said Andreas Schubert, managing director of the Great Place to Work® Institute Germany.
92 percent of FreiLacke employees that participated in the survey declared they “could only recommend our services and products”, while 87 percent said that they felt welcomed as new employees at FreiLacke and 85 percent agreed that “All in all, this is a great place to work”.
